Overview

Clear the duct instead of digging it up

Cable duct desilting machines use the unique Harben diaphragm pump to create a pulsing water jet that clears silt blockages from long lengths of underground cable duct.

Silt trapped in long ducts can be difficult to remove, but a Flowplant desilter clears even the toughest blockages in minutes — avoiding civils work on old ducts that would otherwise need digging up and replacing.

How it works

From blocked duct to cable pull

Loosen

A powerful pulsing water jet first loosens the compacted dirt.

Wash out

The jet then washes the silt out of the duct.

Pull through

With the duct clear, engineers can easily pull through additional fibre optic cable.

Scale up

Larger hose reels, lightweight hoses and metre counters help on long runs.

Proven on fibre roll-outs

Thousands of kilometres of duct cleared

Hundreds of Flowplant desilters have been used to unblock and desilt thousands of kilometres of fibre optic cable duct. Much development has taken place since the first Harben duct desilting system was approved.

Flowplant are members of the FTTH Council Europe.
